Friday 14th of April was the picturesque day that makes April in Australia one of the best months for a wedding! The weather was just the beginning of how idyllic this Kingscliff wedding truly was.
Starting the day bright and early, I travelled from Noosa to just over the Queensland border, to Kingscliff. The first stop on my wedding photography list was shooting some beautiful details shots of the bride and bridal party as they got ready in their first location of the day, Blue Water Motel.
The Blue Water Motel is a cute motel in Kingscliff that plays homage to the cool and relaxed coastal vibes of its neighbourhood with hints of retro vibes throughout. After capturing some shots in this location, it was straight to the venue where I got to photograph a very special, surprise wedding guest – Doug (the couple’s golden retriever puppy)!
Lizzy had arranged for Doug to come and surprise her husband-to-be while he was waiting for his bride to arrive! I was lucky enough to capture some special pics of Doug and Travis enjoying some boy time outside the charming Osteria Weddings ceremony location.
Walking into the venue, Osteria Wedding, was just breathtaking. The couple and their stylist had beautifully intertwined the theme throughout the venue, including the welcome signage matching the invites and the subtle play on the couple’s Italian heritage.
This 170 guest, stand-up cocktail wedding was slightly different to the usual wedding ceremony and reception but Osteria Wedding nailed the brief and this massive wedding felt just like home.
After the ceremony, we took the whole bridal party and the couple went to Norries Headland to capture some spectacular beach shots with lots of natural light and encompassing the bright colours of a coastal wedding.
The only common theme of this Kingscliff wedding was that the couple did things a little bit differently. From a champagne pop in front of the reception venue (Osteria Weddings) to a gelato and cannoli cart instead of a cake, the Italian influence was felt throughout the celebrations.
Lizzy also managed a quick dress change from her beautiful gown to a floral, strapless bubble dress and proceeded to dance the night away!
With espresso martinis flowing and the dance floor kicking off (in a big way!), it was my time to leave the secrets of the night as just that and depart.
Travis and Lizzy’s Kingscliff wedding was wholesome, cute, and completely them. What a treat to be able to capture such a beautiful day.
